When you type in "Hillary for President" into Google, the first four sites are:
-votehillary.org
-hillary.org
-hillarynow.com
-hillaryclinton.com
Now let's play a game called "Find her actual site":
The first two have the exact same image at the top of the page.
The third says "Give 'em hell, Hillary!" so it's unlikely that this is the official page.
The fourth is the official one ("Paid for by Hillary Clinton for President Exploratory Committee").

It's a sad thing when you're running for President, and your site is only fourth on Google for the obvious search criterion.

In which I offer my (admittedly biased) State of the Union commentary:

Note: all times/events are approximate and subject to my memory as well as the amount of attention I was paying to the T.V. clock.

Time of speech--45 minutes; time non-speech handshaking--15 minutes. Time spent congratulating Madam Speaker--4 minutes.

Domestic policy--15 minutes.
-Dependency on foreign oil, blahblahblahdyblah.
-Big healthcare reform (tax deductions for those without their employer's insurance? Interesting implications there...if I were an employer and heard this, I'd say "screw paying for insurance.")
-Let's try and get an immigration bill this time. No, I mean it this time.
-NCLB, blahblahblahdyblah.
-Pork barrel spending reform. No, I really mean it this time.
-More federal judges, Republican, of course. Democrats not so happy.
-Holy crap, did he say "global climate change"? Why, next thing, it'll be "Kyoto Protocol."

Foreign policy--25 minutes.
-Iraq/Terrorism/Nucular Threats (no, seriously, he said "nucular" like three times), 20 minutes. I don't have a terrible lot to say, but then again, the Dems didn't have a whole lot to applaud.
-All the other stuff, 5 minutes. Darfur (what, not enough other news recently, let's go back to the media's favorite "I'm bored" topic...let's get something done, hm?), HIV/AIDS, malaria (he is so copying Gates), "democracy," etc.

Inspirationalizing: 5 minutes, 4 stories of All-American success.

Hey, guess what, the camera loves you:
Bush: give him some credit, he's not the best speaker ever, but he's trying.
Pelosi: constipated except when handshaking and especially during "Iraq." Blue suit.
Cheney: smirking, as usual. Pink tie...not coordinated with Pelosi.
Iowa man: ethanol=happy/re-election.
Supreme Court Justices: "I'm sorry, we have to be solemn and non-partisan today."
Hillary: spotlighted during "healthcare reform." Constipated.
Obama: sitting in front of Hillary. Not so spotlighted.
McCain: spotlighted during "Iraq." Constipated.
Lieberman: constipated. Don't remember why he was spotlighted.
Autograph-mongerers: too rich to actually need the money they could get from eBay.

Also, haha, the Patriots lost to the Colts, 38-34, in conference championships (and it's about time you got to the Super Bowl, Mr. Peyton Manning). I am smug.

I'm going back to GSSM today, thank goodness. In the meantime, I can't be bothered to cut and paste my list of resolutions from LJ, so I didn't and won't.

Do you realize that by this time next year, I'll have sent out all my college apps? Ah, the vague feelings of impending doom I get from thinking about that (those of you who are in the same straits as me will sympathize, I'm sure).

Despite how worrisome the whole subject is, I've really gotten used to living away from my parents, and I'd really love to get away from the house (and the state) completely. Pending what college I get into, I'm looking forward to it.

Does anyone but me find this just a teensy bit amusing?
